This Sunday is Mother’s Day but when did this tradition start?
The modern day celebration of Mother’s Day was first marked in 1908 when a lady called Anna Jarvis held a memorial service for her mother in West Virginia, USA. The St Andrews Methodist Church there now holds the shrine for Mother’s Day.
