Dermal Fillers

A Dermal Filler, or facial filler, is a smooth, clear gel, made in a laboratory from hyaluronic acid and lidocaine.  Hyaluronic acid is substance which our bodies produce naturally. It is a sugar which acts as a cushioning agent and delivers nutrients to all the cells of our body.  Lidocaine is a pain killer which minimises any discomfort during administration.

Dermal fillers are sterile, non- animal based products which are used to help restore facial volume, soften and decrease the appearance of lines and wrinkles, as well as enhancing the lips.

As we age, so our faces change. Bone reabsorption occurs in our skull, fat pads under our skin begin to shrink and descend, and our skin becomes loose. Our faces begin to take on a sagging appearance and often we can look tired, angry or sad when we actually feel fine. Eyebrows become lower, bags appear under the eyes, cheeks drop and corners of the mouth become downturned. Our jawlines look less defined and lips get thinner. Our faces send out messages that we are saggy, tired, angry or sad, which we may find undesirable and wish to change.

Once, the only option available was to have surgery, but now there is a less invasive method to restore youth and vitality to your face. In skilled hands, dermal fillers can be placed in such a way as to reverse these unwanted signs of ageing, sending new messages of vibrancy and vitality. Faces can be gently contoured, temples filled and eyebrows raised, cheeks plumped and lifted, eye bags minimised, noses straightened, jawlines reshaped and a perfect pout restored. Lines and wrinkles can be softened taking years off your appearance and boosting your confidence. The procedure will give a subtle, natural looking appearance and has very little downtime.

The Dermal filler treatment is individually tailored to your needs following a full medical history, treatment plan and consultation. Medical photographs will be taken before and after the procedure. Skin will be cleansed and local anaesthetic cream applied. The required area will be gently injected using an aspiration technique for extra safety and security. The area will then be massaged and will remain numb for around 30 minutes following treatment. Improvement to the area can be seen straight away although there may be some slight swelling and redness to begin with.

The products that I use are FDA approved, premium products, of the highest quality available in the UK. They come in a range of thicknesses designed to treat specific areas of the face and in different depths of the tissues, to give optimum long lasting results. They are always non-permanent and last between 6 to 18 months depending on the thickness of the product and the amount of product injected.

It is vital that you receive treatment with a qualified professional who is an expert in facial anatomy and safety procedures. As an advanced injector I have had extensive training in the administration of dermal fillers and many years of experience which means that you are in safe hands with me. I am a fully qualified and insured nurse prescriber, guaranteeing you peace of mind, and will give you all the support and advice that you need.
